This beautiful statue is a representation of Ganesh, one of the five prime Hindu Deities, who is the Lord of success and destroyer of evils and obstacles and it is also worshipped as the god of education, wisdom, wealth and knowledge.
Of an elephantine appearance on a large human body and riding a mouse, Ganesh’s symbolism is represented by the his head which symbolises the supreme reality of human existence with the trunk symbolising OM, and by his human body which signifies the earthly existence of human beings.
Ganesh is also the destroyer of vanity, selfishness and pride.
