Medium metal Japanese style bowl made in Nepal. in a charcoal brass finish, depicting on the sides the Mantra OM MANI PADME HUM, which is one of the most used mantras. The mantra can be translated as “The Jewel in the Heart of the Lotus and its sound is supposed to ring throughout the universe, telling of the victorius power of the freedom that is to save all beings.
The inside of the bowl is decorated with all seeing Eyes of Buddha, and the underside of the bowl is decorated with a double Vajra representing the four Dhyani Buddhas, which symbolise harmony, unchangeableness and all-knowing.
The bowl plays note G Sharp 5 (Throat Chakra) and it produces a clear, high resonant sound and it is very easy to play.
Singing bowls have been used in holistic healing, chakra healing, sound therapy, Reiki, fend shui and many other areas related to purify negative impulses and relieving stress.
About 90mm diameter and 45mm high (3.6 x 1.8 inches). It is supplied in a box complete with a small quilted mat and playing stick and makes a very nice gift.
As choosing a singing bowl is down to personal preferences, we have included a sound file. The sound files were produced using a simple wood stick.
