This stunning hand carving of the fire dragon encapsulates the power and bravery of this mythical creature.

To the Chinese, the fire-spitting dragon was principally associated with thunder, lightning and rainmaking, making it a symbol of fertility.

The dragon symbolises power, honour, bravery and magic. In Chinese astrology anyone born under the sign of the dragon is thought to be destined to be a leader.

Each piece is signed by the artist and is carved from Boxwood, a high quality hard wood which has been used by oriental artists since the Tang Dynasty (618-907).

Boxwood has a warm and rich warm color, giving an elegant and classic sense of aesthetic feeling.

The fire dragon carving can also be worn as a pendant as the carving can be threaded with a cord through the base.
