The wood carving of the rabbit captures the social nature of this well loved animal.
In legend, when Buddha summoned the creatures of the earth, the Rabbit was the fourth creature to arrive as it was wise, and recognised Buddha's spiritual importance.
Those born in the Chinese Year of the Rabbit articulate, talented, and ambitious. They are virtuous, reserved, and have excellent taste.
Each piece is signed by the artist and is carved from Boxwood, a high quality hard wood which has been used by oriental artists since the Tang Dynasty (618-907).
Boxwood has a warm and rich warm color, giving an elegant and classic sense of aesthetic feeling.
